Has Anyone else read this report on the internet. The SOCA has held a public auction and the self portrait was a part of recovered stolen property which could not be relocated to it's original owner. The painting then went to auction for £5000... 😮http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/cornwall/LENKIEWICZ-WORK-SOLD-CHARITY/article-292989-detail/article.htmlDoes anyone have additional information regarding this oil?If it was a finished painting then the buyer must be laughing themselves to sleep!

The painting is small, just 22.5 x 17.5cm. It was sold at Bearne's 4 March 2008, lot 315, est £5000- 7000. It would not have made it into the Self Portrait exhibition (I think).

Is a small portrait any less of a national treasure than a large portrait?
