I've thought for a long time that the image gallery on Lenkiewicz.org, although sizeable, contains mostly medicre work. There must be many more images available – especially of quality work; presumably there are members of this site with significant private collections that are not included in the gallery section – although I do recall a previous post outlining why collectors may be unwilling to disclose the contents of their collections. However, it would be great to establish a section in the image gallery for works considered of importance.Maybe the proposed over-hauling of the image section on robertlenkiewicz.co.uk will provide us with a more extensive library of images?

I'm not really sure what is being suggested.Yes, naturally I would like the image gallery to be as complete and comprehensive as possible (hint hint to anybody out there with images of work not already in there 😀 ).However, if it is to compile a database of current owners, then that has to be a definite non-starter.Yes, I can see distinct merits to such a database existing, but the Foundation are the only people who could or should do it. After all, even if current owners were willing to provide me with details of what they have (which for many reasons is unlikely), what could I do with that information? What would be the value in my having access to a database of works and their current owners/location? It certainly couldn't be published on the web. However, compare this to the potential value of the Foundation having this information. It would have value for tracking and authenticating work. It would have definite value in the goal of creating a comprehensive catalogue. And, it would have value in helping the Foundation source work for exhibitions. So, if the suggestion was the creation of a database of works and their current owners, I think you need to be looking towards the Foundation (and we know that this is something they have already considered doing).

I think the general gist is that it would be great to see more works – especially of quality, I don't think anyone cares to know who owns what!

right, thats exactly what I meant… I couldnt give a toss who owns what , I just want to see the pictures! I suggested Dave undertake this as this site is not sitting on its hands in the same way that the foundation is. (if you dont believe me take a look at lenkiewicz.com) seems anna and esther have been sitting on their beautifully filed and polished nails.
