I want to say something about the point made by Westlake over the tone of the recent debates on the site. These debates appear to get good viewing figures and it seems a good way of getting people onto the site. The aim is to get more people to voice opinions. Sadly when Jack tried to launch a debate over Lenkiewicz’s theories on aesthetic fascism a short while ago, it fizzled out. So we need to find a way of getting people to read, debate and think about Lenkiewicz’s ideas, as there is nowhere else that this is happening. The adopted antagonism is a tried and trusted way of achieving it – it makes it more entertaining to read. If no-one was reading it, maybe you’d have to think again. But no-one should get too uptight about it.For my part, I try to change the tone according to the context. For example, Westlake didn’t like the choice of the paintings in the new book, wanting more popular print/Project 18 images included. That’s fine and there’s a genuine point to be made. But I intentionally avoided them to give a different view of Lenkiewicz. I’m well aware that “The Painter with Women” book was the commercial decision. But wrong, I feel, for Lenkiewicz at this point.Neon, who has declared his identity as Chris Kelly on this site, is unhappy that two of his black and white photos weren’t credited to him in the 1997 “R.O.Lenkiewicz” book. From hundreds of photos in Robert’s possession, neither Robert nor I were able to attribute them in the panic to get that book out. But Chris I believe knew Robert for many years and has serious points to make.Kevin has chosen to keep his identity anonymous on the site and who am I to shatter that illusion?

I was going to say, the sound of falling pins is deafening.
