I would be very interested to know the experts opinions on unsigned work – I have an opportunity to purchase such a piece (with provenence from Sotherbys) but am also acutely aware of just how many, supposedly, fakes are out there and how often Sotherbys get it completely wrong.Would you guys buy the work under any circumstances, would the provenence be enough ? What do you think the effect on valuation would be if unsigned indeed its affected at all ? I have to confess I can't think why he wouldn't sign it - is this common for Lenkiewicz ?Sorry about all the questions but this would be my first original and am getting a tad excited/apprehensive about it.Any help/suggestions/sarcasm even greatly appreciated ! PS OK one more question - could Sotherbys be held to account legally if the provenence was unfounded ?

It'll be of benefit to many the day Robert's work is catalogued in more detail. Some of his work was simply initialed LR on the reverse of boards.
