chrisK1. If you were that worried about your photographs ever being used by a "publisher" without copyright approval you should have marked them clearly on the back with your details. Ask your friends in TV production or anywhere else if this standard procedure.2. If you contact the BBC they will send you a cheque for using your photograph (all you have to do is prove you are the originator). Your fee will be about £20 to £50 with repeat fees of 2p per showing. You should be thanking Francis for creating this windfall for you, not berating him. How about donating it to charity?3. Francis can't be held responsible for something that was clearly out of his control.4. What is your gripe anyway? It's a twopennyhalfpenny photograph shown for approximately 4 seconds. Who was hurt, injured, inconvenienced, ridiculed etc? How exactly was your creative reputation damaged by the BBC? Put another way, given creative control, how would you have liked your photograph to have been treated differently within the piece? I wonder what Robert would have said to you Chris, had this happened while he was still alive? Just one of his big sighs, I would guess?

Copyright to an image can only be transferred by a written agreement from the artist. If you have a written agreement from Robert Lenkiewicz it would be a rarity. In the absence of a written agreement (contract)the copyright still rests with the copyright owner.

The fake comes with a cock and bull provenance.eg. “I was Robert's taxi driver and he didn't have any money;we did a deal and he gave me this painting for running him around Plymouth for three months”.

Here is the correspondance between myself and the seller of the drawings linked by Luke above; hii have seen this and your other lenkiewicz drawings. You say they are from your private collection, what is their provanance please? who where and when did you aquire them. I am be interested in buying all of them ,reply:I bought these sketches along with 2 (signed) books, a full pencil drawing of a girl (when he used to draw people along the beach) and also a painting from mr godsons neighbour in Birmingham who was selling up and emigrating.I lived in Devon until 2 years ago and had heard of RL but never really took an interest. I'd completely forgotton about the portfolio until I cleared out the attic. To be really honest, I don't like this type of art that's why I'm selling them.Hope this answers your question.- grandmasjumblemy reply:Dear grandmasjumble,Well not really helpful at all if I am honest.I was really after the history of the drawings. Saying you bought them from Mr Godson's neighbour doesn't really tell me amything about how these particular drawings made it from Robert Lenkiewicz to your ownership. To put it another way, what makes you think Robert Lenkiewicz drew these drawings and what evidence do you have to support that view?Once I am happy with your explanation I would be interested in buying all your drawingsreply;Because the person who sold then to me bought them from a sale in Plymouth complete with a receipt saying that they were by RL. Also the painting that was in the package was an original RL same as the pencil drawing I still have.I can't give you anymore information than that.Believe me or you don't beleive me the choice is entirely yours.- grandmasjumbleI asked to see the receipt.......erm not heard anymore. How about that for a provanance then poeple? But to fair to the seller he did say believe me or don't believe me which is good advice.

marlowe, are you aware that Frank is our old mate KEVIN under a new pseudonym? Francis always enjoyed sparring with him because he said KEVIN nearly always got it wrong. A kind of devil's advocate I suppose. Tallis was invited to speak because there is synergy between his thinking a Robert's on the question of Love. We know that, Frank knew that, Robert would have known it, that's if he didn't already know before he died. What is very clear is that "Love as an illness",

I am going to be polite and simply call those people who are once again insulting me, plonkers. Here is my rebuttle to the critisisms above.Jojo only one person in this thread (as far as I can see) was negative about you and your work. I think your post is a little over the top to be honest. You should know by now that to use this forum is fraught with danger. I have enormous respect for your endeavours and your work ethic. Some of the things you have done have been outstanding but I was unable to get to see man in a red scarf so I am unable to comment. I think the book about the sitters and paintings is a brillaint idea and I look forward to seeing the reworked format book when it comes out.

To try and fob the painting off on someone else with a starting price of £18k is just asking for trouble. You have to question the thought process of someone that would pay anywhere near that for a work of this standard in the first place, especially without having it's authenticity verified?

Good point krauser, but you are assuming they pay near what they are asking as a starting price and that they know it to be a fake. In many cases the forgers pass these off by playing on a common human trait

It's not silly season that makes these fakes appear. They are being offered for sale by people who have bought these fakes in good faith and paid good money for them. The items are ended early because there are forces at work that point out that these works are fake and it very often comes as a big shock to the sellers.

The self portrait that you are referring to was listed on ebay by someone who did not own the painting. The item was withdrawn from ebay when the miscreant was threatened with police action, as it was a clear deception. The world is full of fools!

I think I recognise a tone here.Sounds like our old combative slighty batty Kevin may have come out of retirement. Same style, same idiotic rantings? Anyway Frank you dont read a website homepage in any order old love. The eye scans across it and one clicks on whatever is of the most interest. I think you have got it in one marlowe (KEVIN CID) but not Jacksparrow! Although I must say I DID enjoy CID's take on the Bearnes auction at Westpoint

Latest update. I have it on good authority that Celia Mills is Wolfe's mother (as I first thought). I have therefore updated the list accordingly as follows:Ivorene Davis

Maybe after the play's first performance would be appropriate? For me it will spoil the moment.

This is probably the most insightful and intelligent article that has ever been written about Robert Lenkiewicz. It demonstrates the difference between a real writer with knowledge and personal experience of a subject. Who is this guy? TLF need to recruit him fast, if they can. Jojo, take note! Can you see the difference in this man's approach to your own? You also need to start using a spell checker Jojo, your spelling is atrocious! Thanks to WEB WEAVER for posting this.
